Since the war in Ukraine started, over 7.7 million people were internally displaced according to the International Organization for Migration , and as of May 1st 5.4 million people became refugees according to the UN Refugee Agency – mostly women and children.
While we cannot stop the war, we fill a deep sense of responsibility to do all we can to support the most vulnerable children who had been forced to move out of their homes in search for safety .

As of May 1st over 447 000 people had been displaced to the Republic of Moldova, according to the UN Refugee Agency.
To understand the severity of the situation, it is important to know that Moldova is the poorest country in Europe by fare, with a total population of approximately 2.6 million , and the total number of refugees amounts to over 18% of the republic’s population. Our goal is to help UNICEF provide humanitarian help and other services, such as psychosocial help or protection services, to children that fled Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova.
